Mr Mafume said that he is encouraging the public to use the number *192# so that they can pay their fees to the council without any problems.
This follows the great outcry being made by the public, who are accusing the Harare council and the City Parking company, which manages car parking in Harare of being cruel and insincere.
This is also coming at a time when the Minister of Regional Justice, Mr July Moyo, has formed a commission to investigate the operations of the City Parking company as well as its relationship with the council, as well as how the funds are being managed.

Currently, people who have had their cars impounded are being charged $132.00.
Mr Mafume says that a car bond fee that the public is complaining about has always been there, but it was raised by the council's 2023 budget.
City Parking staff are also accused of hiding when a person parks his car to pay for it to get a receipt and then they resurface to lock up the car after the owner has left.

They are also said to want a bribe of various sums of money to be able to release the cars they have impounded.
But Mr Mafume has promised that his council will put the interests of the residents forward.
